Gnomon school of visual effects has announced the commencement of the Gnomon International Students scholarships for this academic year. You can now apply.

About Gnomon

For over twenty years, Gnomon has educated many of the world’s best digital artists. Called “the MIT of visual effects” by Fast Company magazine, Gnomon offers a variety of educational options to help students reach their goals in the entertainment industry, with both degree and vocational certificate programs, specialized courses for high school students and over 100 individual courses for professional enrichment.

Gnomon’s campus is located in Hollywood, CA, within the Television Center Studio lot. Our classrooms have been designed to cultivate creativity and learning by mimicking the environments of real production studios.

Gnomon 35,000 square foot facility has nine state-of-the-art computer labs, a green screen stage with a cyclorama, a dedicated sculpture lab, a dedicated drawing studio, lecture spaces, student lounges, a student store, and the Gnomon Gallery.

Gnomon International Students scholarships

Gnomon’s Merit-Based Scholarships are awarded to students based on the strength of their application, portfolio, and admissions interview. Recipients will be notified by the Admissions Office at acceptance. Scholarship awards are applied to the student’s first term tuition, or when most beneficial to the student, in the form of a tuition discount. Award amounts will vary.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements for Gnomon scholarships

In order to be eligible for consideration, candidates must:

• Be an applicant to a Gnomon full-time program
• Have completed all application requirements prior to the corresponding application deadline
• Have no previous record of acceptance or enrollment in a Gnomon full-time program

Provisions for Gnomon International Students scholarships

• A change of program or start date deferral could result in the cancellation of a scholarship award
• The scholarship is nontransferable and has no redeemable cash value
• Gnomon Scholarship awards may not be included as proof of funding or be used to reduce the minimum funding amount required on the Certification of Finances Form.

How to Apply for Gnomon International Students scholarships

Gnomon Academic

Gnomon’s programs are specifically designed to develop well-rounded, studio-ready professionals who are also specialized in distinct disciplines within 3D production.

BFA Degree in Digital Production

— 3 or 4 years, Full-time Program

A baccalaureate program that covers all aspects of a 3D generalist skillset, providing an in-depth understanding of the 3D production pipeline, visual arts, and general education studies

Certificate in Digital Production

— 2 Years, Full-Time Program

An intensive program, built on a 3D generalist foundation, offering emphasized studies in games, modeling and texturing, visual effects, or character and creature animation

Foundation in Art & Design

— 1 Year, Preparatory Course of Study

A preparatory course of study of up to one year of fundamental art education for individuals looking to become better artists and build a well-rounded portfolio

Individual Courses

— 10-week, On-campus and Online

Standalone courses that cover a wide variety of subjects within film, game, and visual effects production

Financial aid at Gnomon

Juilliard Schools scholarships

Domestic student financial Aid

Gnomon is approved by the US Department of Education to offer Federal financial aid, including Pell Grants, Work-Study, Direct Loans, and Parent PLUS Loans to those who qualify.

At Gnomon, Federal financial aid is only available to students who are accepted and enrolled into the following full-time programs:

• BFA Degree in Digital Production
• 2-Year Certificate in Digital Production

For students registering for Foundation in Art & Design classes or individual courses, Federal assistance is not available, however, private educations loans are available to those who qualify.

Private Education Loans

In addition to offering Federal financial aid options, Gnomon offers Private Education Loan options to those who qualify from two different lenders, College Ave and Sallie Mae.

These loans can be used to cover tuition and estimated living expenses.

They are credit-based and will most likely require a co-signer.
